Also have been busy planning some events for the 2011 season - kicking off with some early local sportives from March through to June, distances ranging from 85 to 160 kms each. The 160 km ride is the Tour De Weald and will be a stern test indeed. I have also signed up for the Guide Dogs fundraising week in the Alps in late August - I did the Pyremean one in 2006 and it was very well organised and tough but fun. Last time I raised over £3,000 and hope to do at least as well this time, by starting earlier and doing some of it online. I will just try and find someone to do it with... any takers??!

'Tis all in the planning ...
All this snow and ice has been very depressing and has meant a total disaster as far as any winter riding has been concerned (except the indoor variety of course, which is supposed to be bad for the serious cyclist!). Have consoled myself a little by reading the excellent book 'In search of Robert Millar' with tales of his cycling in all weathers.
