Rutting season
Went out at the unearthly hour of 8.30 am to join some of the Forest Row Rutters - This is not an outdoor sex club but a group of local guys of varying middle age and middle age spread like myself who enjoy riding around Sussex and beyond. Despite the near freezing start temperature, 8 of us set of for a loop to Lewes and back with the welcome enticement of a breakfast at Bills. So glad I got a new thermal top from the Wild Side yesterday which kept me cosy and snug despite the biting wind. Lack of fitness aside, it was an enjoyable 75km run out. It was good to cycle in company, even if it was a bit slower pace overall than had I been out on my own. More rutting in future weeks I think - also have the Burgess Hill Sportive coming up in only 2 weeks time. Scary!
